An Edmonton-based photographer capturing life’s defining moments.
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Stephen, and I was born and raised in the beautiful city that is Edmonton. Despite an aversion to it, I may not have picked up portrait photography if it weren’t for Edmonton’s cold winters. Looking for something to alleviate my boredom, I plunged into the extensive world of portrait photography.
I have been snapping portraits on and off since 2017, slowly building on my knowledge, experience, and confidence in my photography.
My love for connecting with people, building friendships, and eliciting smiles and laughter has pushed me to start Dictionary Photography. “D1ctionary” was my previous Instagram account name that I had been using for years, posting photos of my trips and creative photoshoots. People started to recognize my work and would be like “OH! You’re Dictionary!” As weird as a name as Dictionary is for a photography company, I decided to still just go with it.
Why the name “Dictionary” in the first place?
My friends and I would use this joke/cheesy pickup line where they would introduce me saying “Hey, have you met my friend dictionary?” To which I would respond by lifting up my shirt and saying “check out the definition!” 60% of the time, it works every time.
My goal is to provide a fun, memorable experience with photos that immortalize the emotions, beauty, and uniqueness of your most cherished moments. They say a picture is worth 1000 words. Let my photography become a narrative of your life’s defining moments.
Lastly, if you have any questions about me or my photography feel free to ask.
